Cornell Women’s Resource Center and ALANA proudly invite you to join us in commemorating the 100th Anniversary of International Women’s Day:

A Celebration of Women Around the World:

Recognition Reception for Outstanding Work to Advance Women


Free and open to all! International-themed lunch will be provided by Cornell Catering. Space is limited. Doors will open at 12:45. Lunch will be served at 1:00.

Featuring performances by Baraka Kwa Wimbo Gospel Ensemble, Teszia, Phenomenon Step Club, On the Tap Dance Troupe, Sabor Latino, and more!

Keynote Speaker Funa Maduka‘04

Ifunanya “Funa” Maduka served for three years as Dean of Students and Director of Leadership Development at the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in Johannesburg, South Africa. While pursuing her BA in History at Cornell, Funa served a student-elected representative on the University’s board of trustees. She rallied five departments to institute the first university-wide course on race relations, and was subsequently awarded the prestigious James A. Perkins Prize for Interracial Harmony and Understanding.
