New Students Get Involved with the Student Assembly!

08/24/2010

To all Freshman and Transfer students: Welcome to Cornell!

The Student Assembly cordially invites you to attend our Orientation program Wednesday August 25th at 7 p.m. in Carol Tatkon Center Room 3330.  We currently have 3 Freshman and 1 Transfer Representative seats that will be filled during our Fall Election cycle.  The S.A. represents all undergraduate students at Cornell and because of this we listen to issues and concerns around campus to really make a difference.

There are multiple ways to get involved with the Student Assembly (S.A. for short), by either running for a Representative Seat or becoming involved in a committee.  We have multiple subsets of the Student Assembly and Committees range from helping think of new dishes to add to Cornell Dining (Dining Committee), to helping make our world more sustainable (Environmental Committee) and even distributing all undergraduates’ Student Activity Fee among our 900 student organizations on campus (Appropriations Committee).  Committees are a little less time intensive with meetings approximately every other week while Representatives must be at our Student Assembly meeting every Thursday.

If any of this interests you please feel free to come to our Orientation Event where we will go more into detail about Elections and the details of the S.A. If you cannot make it but are still interested  please contact Natalie Raps (nrr25@cornell.edu) or Charlie Feng (xf26@cornell.edu). Hope to see you all tomorrow!

All the Best,

Your Student Assembly
